چکیده

12 Possibilistic Defeasible Logic Programming (P-DeLP) is a logic programming language which combines features from 13 argumentation theory and logic programming, incorporating the treatment of possibilistic uncertainty at the object-lan14 guage level. In spite of its expressive power, an important limitation in P-DeLP is that imprecise, fuzzy information cannot 15 be expressed in the object language. One interesting alternative for solving this limitation is the use of PGL, a possibilistic 16 logic over Gödel logic extended with fuzzy constants. Fuzzy constants in PGL allow expressing disjunctive information 17 about the unknown value of a variable, in the sense of a magnitude, modelled as a (unary) predicate. The aim of this article 18 is twofold: firstly, we formalize DePGL, a possibilistic defeasible logic programming language that extends P-DeLP 19 through the use of PGL in order to incorporate fuzzy constants and a fuzzy unification mechanism for them. Secondly, 20 we propose a way to handle conflicting arguments in the context of the extended framework. 21 2007 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

A logic programming framework for possibilistic argumentation: Formalization and logical properties

In the last decade defeasible argumentation frameworks have evolved to become a sound setting to formalize commonsense, qualitative reasoning. The logic programming paradigm has shown to be particularly useful for developing different argument-based frameworks on the basis of different variants of logic programming which incorporate defeasible rules. Most of such frameworks, however, are unable...

Modeling Defeasible Argumentation within a Possibilistic Logic Framework with Fuzzy Unification

Possibilistic Defeasible Logic Programming (P-DeLP) is a logic programming language which combines features from argumentation theory and logic programming, incorporating the treatment of possibilistic uncertainty at object-language level. This paper presents a first approach towards extending P-DeLP to incorporate fuzzy constants and fuzzy propositional variables. We focus on how to characteri...

A Logic Programming Framework for Possibilistic Argumentation with Vague Knowledge

Defeasible argumentation frameworks have evolved to become a sound setting to formalize commonsense, qualitative reasoning from incomplete and potentially inconsistent knowledge. Defeasible Logic Programming (DeLP) is a defeasible argumentation formalism based on an extension of logic programming. Although DeLP has been successfully integrated in a number of different real-world applications, D...

Modelling Argument Accrual in Possibilistic Defeasible Logic Programming

Argumentation frameworks have proven to be a successful approach to formalizing commonsense reasoning. Recently, some argumentation frameworks have been extended to deal with possibilistic uncertainty, notably Possibilistic Defeasible Logic Programming (P-DeLP). At the same time, modelling argument accrual has gained attention from the argumentation community. Even though some preliminary forma...
